What is your favorite way to spend rainy day? At home! Either watching a movie, reading a book with a cup of coffee, or cooking a delicious dish for the day.
What’s the most unusual food you’ve ever tried, and did you like it? I have tried some insects and tree worms, “suri” in Peru. I tried these to taste the flavor but not my favorite food 🙂
Do you have a favorite quote or motto that you live by?
“One day at a time. Tomorrow will be better.”
“Stay humble and kind – no matter what”- words that my father used to say to me all the time and that now is part of my daily motto.
What’s the most rewarding part of your job?
There are many rewarding parts of my job, but one of the most special is seeing a patient who was sick start to feel better — it brings me so much joy. Their smiles when they walk into the clinic can brighten even the hardest days. I also find it incredibly meaningful to support parents through the challenges of parenting — helping them feel more confident and supported is truly fulfilling.
Do you have any hobbies or interests outside of medicine?
I love to travel and explore new cultures. I enjoy outdoor activities and staying active — especially because I love to eat! I also cherish spending time with my family.
What’s the most interesting place you’ve ever visited?
Thailand has been one of the most interesting places I’ve visited — the culture, food, and diversity of experiences were unforgettable. I also consider my homeland, Peru, incredibly special. Its rich diversity across the coast, mountains, and jungle offers breathtaking landscapes and vibrant traditions that always inspire me.
Do you have any pets? If so, tell us about them.
Yes — Hazel! She’s my 5-year-old Staffordshire Terrier and truly the best. She’s full of energy, expressive (with plenty of judgy faces!), and incredibly kind and loving. Hazel is super friendly, loves car rides, and is always waiting for me at the door when I get home!
What’s the most memorable adventure you’ve ever had?
I’ve had so many memorable adventures — from traveling through different parts of Peru with my cousins, brother, and grandmother, to visiting Brazil with my family, to bathing elephants in Thailand. Each of these experiences holds a special place in my heart and always brings a smile to my face when I think back on them.
